Further, the armor system is, to put mildly, uncomfortable in almost every condition. It may come as no surprise that the 6b86 system is nearly unseen in non-space environments, where cooling vests are sparsely issued and weight is a severe concern.

6b84 is used by rearline personnel, though it has cropped up in front line issue with a reattached throatguard and lap shield. This reduces some eight to ten pounds of weight, though the largest issue, the armorplates, remains.
